David A. Bryant

David A. Bryant is a solution-oriented lawyer with over 25 years of experience in the legal, medical, and insurance fields.

As a partner at Bryant Legal Group, he concentrates his practice on civil litigation and insurance disputes with an emphasis on disputed health coverage and disability insurance for highly compensated professionals.

David leverages his knowledge of the insurance industry to the benefit of his clients, helping them recover hundreds of millions in denied insurance benefits.

Due to his unique experience managing the complicated interaction between both public and private insurance matters, billing, coding, and posting, and revenue cycle management, he has become a trusted resource for both small and large medical organizations. He serves as corporate counsel to several physician groups, managing their medical practice claims, employment issues, compliance, and billing cycle reimbursement.

In addition, David advises colleagues and clients on federal and state compliance related to Medicare and Medicaid.

Jennifer Danish is the Managing Partner of Bryant Legal Group PC. Her practice at the firm concentrates on matters involving ERISA-governed benefits, short and long term disability policies, individual disability income policies and disputes between healthcare providers and health insurers.

Jennifer counsels and represents policyholders on all aspects of disability coverage, from the filing of initial claims, to internal appeals, to litigating denials in state and federal court. She is intimately familiar with insurance industry operations and uses this knowledge to help her clients collect the benefits they are entitled. As a Chicago insurance lawyer, Jennifer also provides strategic and practical advice to both individuals and businesses seeking to purchase insurance products.

Her work on behalf of healthcare providers, from small independent to large national groups, have resulted in millions of dollars in additional collected reimbursements from health insurance companies.

Jennifer is very involved in her professional community. Her leadership activities include serving as appointed Chair for the Standing Committee on Plaintiffs’ Policy, Technology Vice Chair for the Solo and Small Firm Committee, Member of the Committee on Diversity and Inclusion, Member of the Membership Standing Committee, and Technology Vice Chair for the Health & Disability Law General Committee for the ABA Tort Trial Insurance Practice Section. She is also a member to the American Association for Justice Leaders’ Forum. Jennifer also serves as the Chair-Elect for the Law Office Management & Economics Committee and Chair for the Disability Law Committee of the Illinois State Bar Association. She frequently presents programs and publishes articles in national publications with her recent topics including:  ERISA, discovery, state discretionary prohibition bans, mediation/alternative dispute resolution, insurance bad faith, and disability benefit claims.

In her spare time, Jennifer volunteers for the Illinois Lawyers’ Assistance Program, Inc., which helps lawyers, judges and law students obtain the assistance they need to address substance abuse addiction and mental health problems.

Andrew Bryant brings over twenty years of litigation and investigations experience in both the insurance industry and government positions to the Bryant Legal Group.   Andy’s work at the firm concentrates in the representation of individuals in health & disability insurance claims and the representation of medical providers in commercial healthcare insurance reimbursement litigation and investigations. 

Andy represents individuals in an array of insurance claim matters, including long and short term disability claims, group or individual health insurance claims, mental health claims, life insurance and accidental death claims.  Andy is very familiar with the insurance claims and appeals processes and leverages this knowledge to his clients benefit to achieve positive results on disputed insurance claims.

Andy also represents medical groups in managed care contract disputes and payer/provider reimbursement litigation.  At Bryant Legal Group and in his former role within the insurance industry, Andy has investigated matters involving complex medical insurance claim questions and issues.  As a result of his efforts, Andy has successfully obtained significant claims payments and settlements on behalf of his individual and medical provider clients.

Andy began his career as an Assistant State’s Attorney prosecuting cases in the high-volume court rooms of Cook County, Illinois.  As a front-line prosecutor, Andy personally prosecuted thousands of cases, including all types of violent crimes such as first-degree murder cases, significant financial crimes, and complex criminal drug conspiracy cases.  Andy’s time in the State’s Attorney Office included several years as the lead State prosecutor for the Chicago Strike Force, a cooperative task force between the United States Attorney’s Office and Federal & State law enforcement agencies.   Andy was recognized and awarded on multiple occasions by community groups and law enforcement for his work representing the people of Cook County.

Prior to joining the Bryant Legal Group, Andy worked in the claim investigations unit at a large national insurance carrier where he consulted and advised on claim and medical billing investigations.  In his claims investigations consultant role, Andy reviewed claim files, investigative reports, medical files, and other claim evidence in developing investigative strategies and advising on appropriate claim resolution.   Andy’s work also included acting as liaison with state regulators and in that role he developed an extensive background in the rules and regulations governing insurance claim practices.

In addition to being a licensed attorney, Andy is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

Dr. Theodosios (Ted) Patras, MD

Dr. Ted Patras consults with our attorneys regarding complex medical-legal issues related to our disability cases. Dr. Patras is also the President of AthenaMD where he brings a unique blend of experience on both the clinical and business sides of the emergency medicine industry. In his previous work as a consultant and physician leader, Dr. Patras has led the transformation of numerous emergency departments, developing leadership programs, clinical support systems, and assisting in the design of emergency facilities.

He received a BS from Illinois Benedictine University before earning his MD from The Chicago Medical School in Illinois. Dr. Patras trained in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals and has since served as an Associate Clinical Professor of EM at the University of Illinois School of Medicine.
